It’s worth noting that even though you’ll see the remains of both friendly and enemy heroes in the Crypt, only the friendly ones can be resurrected. Resurrecting heroes isn’t free regardless of their level, however, you won’t have to pay any gold for it since the process only costs mana. Once you have the remains of a hero in your Crypt, you can simply click the Resurrect button to bring up a menu that tells you how much the process will cost. Heroes that were captured or killed before that will simply disappear. It’s important to reiterate that neither the Prison nor the Crypt will show in the Hero Overview until you’ve constructed the appropriate buildings. These can be either your own heroes or enemy heroes you managed to kill during battles. The Prison is where you’ll find enemy heroes you captured in battle while t he Crypt is where you’ll find the remains of dead heroes. Doing so will unlock access to a couple of attachments, including the Prison and the Crypt. In order to gain access to the additional options you’ll first need to build a level 1 Wizard Tower in one of your cities. At the start of the game, the Hero Overview menu will only list your current heroes, but as you progress through a scenario, you’ll eventually gain the ability to capture prisoners and resurrect dead heroes. Simply open the Hero Overview menu and you’ll find the recruitment option down at the bottom.
